crossroads seems like an unlikely nook in an otherwise rundown commercial area on ridge avenue. the space is fantastic. it feels kind of like a hip library with a spacious downstairs and wraparound second story balcony lined with books. the walls are bright yellow, as are seemingly all coffee house walls, decorated with an array of illustrative posters and photographs. there is plenty of seating, including two comfy chairs and good lighting. crossroads' menu extends well beyond coffee drinks, serving smoothies, full-on breakfast options, paninis and wraps, named after local streets. while there is nothing vegan on the menu itself, their two specials on the day i was there were - a three bean chili actually advertised as "vegan" and a hummus wrap. the ambiance lends itself well to studying, but reading is a bit of a challenge with r&b playing just a tad too loud. i liked this place though.
