our 3rd dinner in prague was certainly our healthiest, as we got a reservation at the most well-known vegetarian restaurant in town. the space was really nice and clean, with several dining rooms. we ate in the pink/coral room. the menu includes a lot of explanations of ingredients that visitors may be unfamiliar with and everything is clearly marked with symbols for dishes that are vegan and dishes that can be made vegan upon request.

i had wanted hummus to start us off, but luca wanted grilled veggies, so we went with that. good thing too, because they were unbelievable! it was a pile of wonderful grilled vegetables, including tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, eggplant an onion in a ludicrously delicious balsamic and oil infusion with garlic, topped with fresh arugula and accompanied by sections of two types of whole grain breads, one darker and harder, one lighter and softer. yum!

the entrees were HUGE, so if you're not looking to take home half a week's worth of food, you may want to opt for a half portion. my bulgar risotto with veggies tempeh and sun-dried tomatoes was awesome. it tasted whole and real, with a giant dollop of sun-dried tomato tapenade on top. take a little with each bite of risotto and taste it harmonize with the little shreds of veggies, smoky tempeh pieces and whole grains. the salad on the side seemed unnecessary.

luca got the same dish he got at klub architektu - pasta with smoked tempeh, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. he preferred the other restaurant's version, as this one came in a rather tasteless vegan cream sauce with mushrooms:

since it had been days since either of us had indulged in any sweets, we decided to get their sole vegan dessert option: carrot cake. well, this was not my idea of dessert. it was cold, made of millet and smothered in a mild gooey sauce that didn't taste like much of anything. i prefer my desserts small, rich and chocolately. this was large, bland and healthy. i took the majority of it with us to go, thinking it might make a better breakfast, but it still tasted pretty unpleasant the next morning.

we also had big clear mugs of fresh mint and ginger tea with lemon and honey:

it was so nice to get some nutrients overseas. i could feel my mood elevating as we ate. even the waiting area and bathroom smelled great and were a pleasure to visit and the servers were kind.
