i was all excited to get a slice of vegan pizza before my last ulysses class, but slice was totally disappointing! the only vegan pizza they had by the actual slice was a cheeseless affair with eggplant, sliced portabellas, red onion and roasted peppers. the crust was very thin, which was nice, though it was also a little burnt, which was not nice. the rest of it tasted like pizza that had been sitting out for a few days and all the flavors just kind of melded together into nothingness. i'll bet their vegan pies with cheese are not great either, since they use follow your heart mozzarella. i so wish they would make vegan versions of all their pies. i would love a vegan barbeque chicken pizza or a hawaiian one with mock ham and daiya mozzarella. i bet the truffle one would be fantastic with daiya too. maybe i need to just start bringing daiya cheese with me wherever i go. if vegan pizza happens to come up in conversation, i'll be prepared.
